FARMHOUSE RESTAURANT

When I learned that this restaurant will be closing shop in two day's time, I quickly brought my two makan kakis to enjoy this food. My previous meal here was on 23 Nov 2005 (See posting on this date). Unlike my previous dinner, the restaurant was quite crowded today. As usual, the food was simple and consistently good. We had the Fried Sweet pork, Broad bean vermicelli, Tofu and potato vermicelli, Fried Sweet potato, Pork ball soup, Steamed pork dumpling and Red Bean paste pancake. The fried sweet potato (top right pic) was excellent. It was fried and coated with sugar syrup that harden when dipped into a bowl of cold water. This simple and healthy dish is rarely found in Spore. For 7 dishes, our total bill was $59.00 including rice and tea. Will having our dinner we saw two large refrigerator being wheeled into the restaurant. The departing Boss told us that it belongs to the new owner which will be taking over on 21 Dec 05. We spoke briefly to the new lady boss. She told us that they will continue to serve Northern Eastern Chinese food and the menu will be expanded to include more new dishes. We will be back.
