Assam Curry Fish Head in Sembawang.

There are 3 types of curry fish head commonly sold in Singapore, curry powder, lemak and assam. Curry powder fish heads are mainly sold by Indian restaurants. Assam fish head by Chinese restaurants and lemak fish head by Chinese and Peranakan restaurants. While there are many good curry powder fish head restaurants along Race Course Road, it is not easy to find a good assam curry fish head restaurant. So, if you are around Sembawang, head for Chye Lee Restaurant in 1 Jalan Legundi. This restaurant sells very good Chinese style assam curry fish head. A medium size fish head cost $25. Also try the steamed tofu. Goes well with the fish head curry.

Comments:
Try out Sum's Kitchen next door. They have one of the best roast duck i have tried so far. Most dishes here are generally good and the food here is never too greasy or too bland/salty. Definitely one of my favorite cze cha place.

If you want to go there on Sat or Sun evening, make sure you go there early as the wait for a table can be 30mins to an hour. Also the roast duck normally gets sold out by 7+ to 8pm daily. The roast pork is not bad too but i had only manage to try it once.

The chef is from HK and the wife is a Sporean.
