Northern China Food in Tanjong Pagar
Cheng Li Yuan Restaurant at 72 Tanjong Pajar Road is my favorite restaurant. The food is good, price is reasonable, service is excellent and NO service and GST charges. The nine-month old restaurant has just added many new items to its newly printed menu. I tried five of them and enjoyed them all. The best is the crispy duck. It is served with freshly make pancakes, spring onions and cucumber. The sweet potatoes coated with salted egg yolk is another favorite. Lightly deep fried brinjal topped with meat sauce is delicious. White cabbage and salted vegetables with steaky pork is served in a heated wok. It is something different. For dessert, the egg white with red bean is very well done. Apart from these five dishes we also have fried dumpling, onion pancake and beancurd slices with vegetables. The total bill, including rice and tea for 8 persons, is $106 dollars. I'll be back, soon.
