Huanglong, Sichuan - Day 3

This morning we took a domestic flight from Chengdu to Jiu Zhai Huanglong airport. A return airticket cost RMB2200. At airport we rented a taxi (RMB180) to take us to Huanglong, about 53km away. Huanglong is about 4000m AMSL. The main attraction is the Five-coloured Pool, located at the highest point in the park. It was quite a challenge to walk the 3.5km distance from the top of the cable car station to the Pool due to lack of oxygen. My advise to those who have high blood pressure and/or heart problem to skip Huanglong and just focus on Jiuzhaigou.
On the way to Huanglong, we have lunch in a small town. Surprisingly, the food at this restaurant was quite good. We enjoyed the hot melon soup and fatty pork. The chicken was tasty but bony. We again have radish. The cuttlefish with pepper was refreshing. After our trip to Huanglong, we headed for Jiuzhaigou and stopped at the same restaurant for dinner. We have yak meat. I found the taste quite overpowering. The mushroom was very nice.
