HK Tim Sum in Sunshine Plaza
The ambiance here is not great. You sit along a corridor, the tables are small and the chairs uncomfortable. But the food is great. The quality of tim sum here is very high, better than some top grade restaurants. The har kow (Victor's King Prawn Dumpling, $3.50) is stuffed with good quality prawns. The siew mai (Tasty Queen Size Siew Mai, $2.50) is so firmed and tasty. The lotus leaf rice (Chicken and Sausage in Glutinous Rice, $4.00) is one of the best I have ever eaten. The rice rolls (cheong fun) are all freshly made. The carrot cake (Scallop, Sausage Carrot Cake, $3.00) is steamed not pan fried. The pao (Oyster Sauce char siew bun, $2.50) is filled with chunky pieces of juicy char siew. Avoid going at lunch time and not more than two persons as tables are limited. Victor's Kitchen is in Sunshine Plaza, Middle Road.
