Shanghainese Food in Bukit Timah, near Sixth Ave

Expensive but good quality. This is what you can expect at Yangqing's Shanghai Kitchen. A basket of four Xiao Long baos cost S$8. But inside each juicy bao is crab eggs and minced meat. The bao is slightly larger than the usual ones and the skin is thicker. A plate of beef fried rice costs $18. It is a hugh plate that could easily feed 4 persons. A plate of Shanghai rice cake costs $28. It is fried with crab roe. The table setting is quite classy. However, the tables are placed very close to each other. I think it is because the restaurant is quite small. Yangqing's Shanghai Kitchen is at 791 Bukit Timah Road, just before Sixth Ave.
