Teochew Porridge Buffet in Jalan Kayu
For $4.80 you can enjoy a Teochew style porridge buffet in Jalan Kayu, near the famous roti prata shop. But, you first have to order at least one item from the ala carte menu. Still, it is worth it. The buffet is simple. No meat dishes. Just the good old traditional teochew food like salted egg, salted veg, steamed egg, tou kee, etc. I ordered two 
dishes from the menu, sambal kangkong ($5) and minced meat with salted fish ($8). The sambal 
kangkong is very good. Fried with lots of dried prawns. The buffet comes with dessert, hot bobur cha cha and tow suan. Can be very crowded on weekends.
